Do the mummies and mysteries of ancient Egypt dominate your thinking?
Are you obsessed with stories of King Tut, Pharaoh Ramses, Queen Nefertiti and other great Egyptian rulers?
Then you will find membership in Orange County’s American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE) a fascinating and exciting way to stoke the fires of your curiosity.
Every month through your membership in ARCE, you will be able to attend presentations about Egypt or Egyptian culture. You will also have the opportunity to join Egyptian travel groups. You will receive publications with information about the most current finds and digs occurring right beneath your feet. You’ll meet and talk with researchers using state-of-the-art scientific methods along with ancient rudimentary tools to uncover Egypt’s secrets.
ARCE is a nonprofit organization that facilitates the study, excavation, preservation and renovation of important historical artifacts and sites from the Pharaonic through the Medieval Period. While the main administrative office is in Cairo, Egypt, the U.S. business office is in Alexandria, Virginia.
ARCE chapters in the U.S. sponsor educational programs in almost all geographic regions of the lower 48 states.
Based in Orange County, your ARCE/OC Chapter serves all counties from Ventura to San Diego to the Inland Empire.
Our programs are offered in conjunction with our partner, the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana.
As a member, you will be invited to participate in special events such as hieroglyphs and art and craft classes, interpreted visits to museum exhibitions and seminars on popular topics - all at reasonable prices.
As a valued Member, you will never miss out on information about our programming, up to the minute advice about traveling to Egypt, or opportunities to socialize with other Southern Californians interested in Ancient Egypt.
If your interest lies in reading and discovering more academic knowledgeable routes, look for hosted book signings by your favorite Egyptology scholars.
